During Lent, as we are making room for God, this week, let’s think about giving up Avarice, concentrating instead on Charity.

Charity or Generosity: Going beyond simple money. Letting others get the praise or credit, giving without expectation, not recognizing a “fair share.”

Avarice or Greed:  There are least 3 forms of Greed:

  1. An obsessive desire for more material goods & power
  2. A fearful need to store up surplus goods for some vaguely defined time of want
  3. A desire for more earth goods for their own sake.
